The preparation to the aquanaut diving includes the preparation of the diving station, the routine check-up of the diving equipment and the security settings. During the instructions it is necessary to use samples and drafts of the devices which divers are expected to use while working under water, repairing ships and vessels of this class.
The post for plunging under water the diver’s boat is equipped with a light metal pit, which should be steadily attached to the hull. While plunging under water the diving equipment, the security settings and the diver’s respiratory apparatuses should be carefully examined. The results of the routine check-up are registered in the journal for diving work and signed by the persons performing the check-up. Plunging of a diver without passing the routine check of the security settings and plunge devices is FORBIDDEN. While checking them it is also necessary to examine the security settings of the plunging and the correctness of the system connections. It is OBLIGATORY all the manometers set on the air highways to be put upright and closely inspected. The inspection and the sealing must be done no less than once a year. Dressing of the diver starts after the end of the routine check-up and signing the journal for diving work. After the dressing of the diver it is obligatory to attach the mobile phone connection.
In cases of using diving equipment of swimming kind it have to be well-balanced and it has to provide a good ability for swimming near to nullity, that’s why the flippers have to fit well. When the diver is dressed, it is necessary to take into consideration the seals in the joints, the tight adhesion of the joints, the adjustment of the belts, the correct installation and operation of the discharge and safety valves, the safe mounting of the telephone devices in the helmet and in the various parts of the equipment. In any case the diver should be equipped with a knife. Before the diver goes underwater, the diving supervisor should personally inspect the equipment and its correct mounting.
During diving the safety is provided by means of:
- Strict and severe observation of the current regulations, the instructions for operating with diving equipment, the manual and guidelines for performing diving operations;
- Excellent technical condition and preparation of the diving equipment, the devices and facilities for performing diving operations;
- Excellent knowledge of the diving equipment and the principles of physiology of diving;
- Perfect organization of performing and ensuring the diving operations.
When diving, it is compulsory to take measures in order to provide the complete safety of the divers under the surface. Diving from a diver’s launch is allowed when the sea conditions does not exceed grade 3. Warning signals are hoisted before divers go underwater and then lowered when divers go out of the water. During the day the signal used is flag „Alfa“ according to the International standards. The diver has autonomous diving equipment with an open breathing system and after he runs out of the main air supply he should switch on the emergency air supply, immediately report to the diving supervisor and begin to swim out according to the preliminary instructions. Operating on emergency air supply is forbidden.
