The number of dams on the territory of the Republic of Bulgaria amounts to 48 large dams and over 2000 micro-dams, some of which are potentially dangerous. They are in urgent need of inspection, identification of their condition and immediate repair. The dams need regular maintenance. They should be inspected every year and, if necessary, timely measures taken to repair and clean the dams if necessary..

1. A thorough underwater survey to determine the current condition of problem dams or other reservoirs

A detailed report shall be prepared for the underwater survey, which shall include a detailed analysis of the condition of the dam's main outlet, valves, pipes, water towers, shafts, dam walls and their strengthening. Recommendations are made if there is a need for underwater repairs and cleaning of the dam. The report may also be accompanied by photographs or video if agreed in advance. The report is handed over to the client at the end of the project and can be used to establish the need for urgent remedial measures or to create a schedule for dam maintenance.
